I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your telegram of the 4th instant with regard to the supply of subsidiary coins in Hong Kong, which ran as follows:-
"With reference to Crown Agents' telegram 30th October instruct them to use utmost endeavours to supply 14 million 10 cents; must arrive not later than 15th January: demand certain till date named: if insufficient supplies serious loss to Revenue: if necessary send orders to Birmingham and Indian Mints: after 15th January no demand for coins expected for some time to come.
